    My daughter is 5 years old has expressed interest in becoming an actress/singer/dancer. Since she could walk and talk, she’s been putting on her own “performances” for family and friends. I want to assist her now.

    In addition to sending her to classes\tutors, what techniques can I teach her on my own at home? I’ve played role-playing games and had her express different emotions, etc. What else can I do with her to encourage her acting in a fun way?

    I always wished to be an actress; ivve got all it takes to become one am always up for new challenges am very talented I can act dance and model. But I dance mostly I started dancing since young agee : am 14 short for my age :oops: I speak to languages english and french am learning spanish.

    Hi Danielle,
    Thanks for visiting my blog and posting your comments and questions. Your little girl sounds a lot like my daughter when she was young! You can try some improv with her — have her act out particular situations — probably sort of like the role-plaing you are doing with her. Improv is really like playing pretend and it is good practice for being real and in the moment and for responding to another person, things that are all very important in acting. Another activity that might be fun is to have her watch commercials and try to do what the people in the commercials are doing. You can also do pretend auditions with her — practice having her look into your eyes when you interview her (or someone else) and to answer questions with more than just a simple yes or no, and that sort of thing. While she is so young, scene study classes are likely to be boring to her, but improv and comedy classes will probably be good for her.
